Creating the Future in the Boardroom: Giselle joined the Take on Board Podcast

We’re excited to share that Giselle recently joined Helga Svendsen on the Take on Board podcast to talk about what it really means to create the future in the boardroom. 

In this engaging conversation, Giselle and Helga explore the evolving nature of governance – from moving beyond “best practice” to finding what’s right-sized for your organisation. As Giselle puts it “Don’t let perfection get in the way of good enough. Governance should evolve with your organisation’s needs.” 

Giselle also shares some of the practical tools and mindsets she uses to help boards shift from oversight to insight – including: 

  • Governance Yoga – Stretching into the uncomfortable to build strength, flexibility and perspective. 
  • Warming up the room – starting meetings with a “leadership moment” or value reflection to set tone and focus 
  • Future focus – spending less time in the rear-view mirror and more time looking through the windscreen. 

At the heart of it all is Giselle’s belief that governance is about helping others: “Everyone governor’s role is a chance to help people and create a better future”
